Dynamis Plc is a London-based online media group formed in 1995 to complement the publication Businesses and Premises for Sale.
Our first web title, BusinessesForSale.com, originally operated as a free bulletin board service and served as an extension to the magazine.
Flourishing during the dotcom boom of the late 90s the website eventually replaced the magazine, which ceased publication in 1998. By the summer of 1999 BusinessesForSale.com had become the largest global database of businesses for sale, spanning more than 100 countries and attracting thousands of buyers and sellers daily.
In March 2000, £1.7m of angel funding was raised to develop BusinessesForSale.com further and launch a sister site, FranchiseSales.com. Launched in December 2001, FranchiseSales.com is an online directory of more than 1,400 franchise opportunities.
In 2006 we launched BusinessWings.co.uk, a resource featuring articles, podcasts and videos aimed at aspiring and inexperienced entrepreneurs, and BusinessOpportunities.com, the marketplace for finding business partners, investors and business opportunities.
Since then, company size and output have more than tripled. We have expanded our existing websites into new geographical territories as well as launching a French language version of FranchiseSales.com – FranchiseAVendre.fr – with more foreign-language sites planned.
In 2011, Dynamis ventured into a new market in partnership with the Financial Times. PropertySales.com, supported by BusinessesForSale.com, is the definitive online marketplace for buying and selling commercial property.
Dynamis, still a privately-held company, also celebrated 15 years online in 2011. An internet veteran and survivor of the dotcom crash, its pre-eminence so many years later is a testament to its founders’ vision, its employees and its faithfulness to a core principle – to put technology at the heart of the business.
Such is our expertise in the search-technology field that we power classified listings on FT.com, Telegraph.co.uk, MailOnline.co.uk, Reed.co.uk and AMEinfo.com, providing fully managed solutions.
We always strive to add value to our business-for-sale classifieds and search function, developing a range of additional services to benefit our buyers, sellers and advertisers.
Our team of journalists reports on the latest news in the franchising and business-sales marketplaces, while business-transfer agents, franchisors, accountants and solicitors provide frequent advice and comment. Meanwhile, our dedicated rich-media team produces premium-quality videos and podcasts featuring inspirational entrepreneur interviews or showcasing franchise opportunities.
Dynamis has also ventured into print publishing, launching an annual FranchiseSales.com magazine – a coffee-table guide to franchising that provides an additional route to market for our franchise clients – in 2009.
