According to BusinessesForSale.com there has never been a better time to cash in your London home for a business in one of Britain’s thriving regions.
A new BusinessesForSale.com survey of over 15,000 businesses for sale revealed that the average price of a freehold business with accommodation in the Midlands, (such as a pub or restaurant) was £366,000 – the same figure quoted for the average cost of a London home.
"It makes perfect sense," says Marcus Markou, BusinessesForSale.com Chairman.
"The boom in property prices makes it even easier for people to pursue their dreams of being an entrepreneur and running their own businesses. For the same price you’d pay for a London home you can buy a small business, with its own accommodation, in the Midlands or elsewhere in the country," he adds.
"Most of these businesses are already profitable so you don’t have to go through start-up hell."
The survey revealed the following average prices for freehold businesses, with accommodation, which included pubs, restaurants, post offices, care homes and convenience stores:
